Gel Documentation
A gel documentation system is commonly used in molecular biology laboratories for the detailed imaging and documentation of nucleic acids and proteins which are suspended within polyacrylamide or agarose gels. These gels are stained with fluorescent chemical compounds which can re-emit light when illuminated by UV lighting.
Subsequently, gel documentation systems will usually include a UV light trans-illuminator, as well as a camera for accurate image capturing and a protective hood to shield external light sources and safeguard the user from UV exposure. By using a gel documentation system, your laboratory can produce capture detailed images of nucleic acids and proteins for analysis and further scientific observation.
At Labmode we can supply your laboratory with a broad range of different gel documentation equipment. Browse our range of UVP iBox Imaging and UVP Standard Bio Imaging equipment to find the system which best accommodates your laboratory's objectives.
