Scanlaf Mars Class 2 Cabinet
The Mars Class 2 cabinet is probably the most technologically advanced and energy efficient Class 2 cabinet in the world today! The clean and modern TUV approved Scandinavian designed cabinet is packed with advanced technical features providing optimum user safety and comfort.
The compact external foot-print of the Mars cabinet allows maximum working heights where lab ceiling heights are restrictive. The Mars Class 2 cabinet can have a 90cm working height and function correctly in a room with floor to ceiling heights of 2.4m with either recirculating double HEPA or ducted models.
Despite the small external footprint the internal work area is large and accessible allowing easy movement of equipment in and out of the cabinet.
The ergonomic electrically operated sliding front window, clear side windows, anti-glare powder coated rear wall and fully adjustable (0 to 2000Lux) diffused lighting ensure maximum user comfort during long working periods. The Mars cabinet is also extremely quiet, <54dB(A) for Mars 1200, further enhancing user comfort.
Digital fan technology including two fans for down flow in conjunction with diffused laminator technology provide enhanced down flow uniformity (+/-10%), and extremely quiet operation, less than 54dB(A) for Mars 1200.
The Mars Class 2 has excellent green credentials for whole life costings. The digital fans are extremely energy efficient with the Mars 1200 running on less than 1amp. This reduction in energy consumption means that less heat is generated and further savings can be made on room air cooling systems. The half-fan speed mode will further reduce energy consumption whilst the user is not working at the cabinet.
Operator safety is enhanced by the v-shaped in-take grill at the front of the work surface allowing unhindered air flow around the operators arms whilst working. Air flow sensors monitor the cabinet conditions and audible and visual alarms alert the user to any air flow fluctuations.

The clean room design means that the Mars is very easy to clean both inside and out. The hinged front panel with support strut also allows full and easy access to the inside of the front window for ease of cleaning.
A full range of optional extras include: PIR sensor for reduced energy consumption, USB Port for data logging of cabinet conditions, built in UPS, and by-pass systems for in-house extract systems. The cabinets can also be configured with a full range of work tops and support stands.
The versatility of the cabinet design makes it ideal for a large range of applications. Weighing applications to 4-5 decimal places or, with the optional vibration damping plate, to 6 decimal places can easily be performed. The cabinet can be configured to include heated and or cooled work surfaces with built in microscopes making it the cabinet of choice for many IVF applications. For work with viruses or cytotoxic compounds the Mars Pro with its third Hepa filter is the ideal choice. The Mars is the obvious choice for tissue culture and microbiology applications.
